Hi there,
we are using D365 F&O PMA at the version of 10.0.8 (10.0.319.20003)
we are trying to move a number of projects to the stage of "close", trying to do this via Excel add in, and bring in the Project stage field to the excel, but when we change the project stage value and tried to save and refresh the change back to the database, I am getting a message saying 'project stage" is a read only field. Is there a way to get around this issue
Thanks in advance
Hi Agnes.
unfortunately not. It seems this is not allowed by design. In addition you are not allowed to bulk update multiple projects in the user interface. I suggest to request a modification by a developer but think about an additional security check to ensure nobody will close all project by mistake.
Thanks Christoph, much appreciated
project stage field triggers /controls other updates to project hence is a read only
you can multi select projects in UI and can update in bulk
Hello Agnes Lee,
The project stage is not something you can directly mass update.
Yet, with a little adjustment of the respective entity, you can use flow / powerautomate to achieve what you want.
I posted something about my blog about this flow integration where my friend Ievgen explains how to realize the modification needed for the entity.
Might help; maybe just have a quick look at the video.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Ludwig,
It will be helpful if you share the direct link to the specific blog and video. Can you add these links? There is now only a general link to your blog in your signature.
