Nav 2013 licensing question

Hello all,

I have created a NAS instance so I can run jobs via job queues in NAV and use NAS so it's always on.  In the Job Queue, I created a job queue card whereby I set up the Start Nas automatically to checked so it starts NAS automatically.  Then whey I started the job queue, I saw my userid in the 'Running as UserID' section of the General Tab.  Question, does this mean I am tying up 1 Nav license?  The reason I ask is because when I goto Active Sessions, I see a session with server instance name=NAS, userid=<my userid>, client type=background.  I have a feeling I am tying up a license.  Am I not?  Please help shed some light.  It would be nice if we are not tying up a license when running job queues as we are using a different server instance anyway.

    Hi,

As mentioned by Suresh, NAS will consume one license session.

    Best Regards,

Hello, as I know, there is a hotfix for this. Please look for Platform hotfix for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 (Build 34745). KB ID 345597 is: NAS service incorrectly uses a user session. Perhaps that solves your Problem.

    Best Regards
