The request passed to the service is not valid Error when issuing Gift Card In Retail POS

I get this error "The request passed to the service is not valid." when issuing a gift card in Retail POS. 

Your assistance is highly appreciated.

    This is a generic validation error message which could be seen in various scenarios. Suggest you open a support ticket with Microsoft to check your environment.

    Sure, it is generic and could be caused by many factors. In this case it was due to the Gift card product not being published in store assortments.
