Sales Backorder partial Invoice with PO Linked

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear all,

we have a scenario. where a sales order is created with an item, since there is no stock backorder all option is selected. We can say 100 items is entered in the sales order. Now we are doing a purchase through transfer--> Purchase and received the shipment for 100 quantity. Now, the inventory is updated with 100 quantity which is comitted for the sales order. Now, the user wants to give only 50 quantities. The remaining quantity will be given after sometime.

The GP will not allow to sell partially when the PO is committed. What is the alternat work around for this process???

Note: They do not want to remove the Purchase order link for that customer, so that it cannot be sold to other customers..

please suggest an work around for this situation.

Thanks,
Shan

RE: Sales Backorder partial Invoice with PO Linked

    Hi Shan,

I'm facing exactly the same problem and the Microsoft partner that we work with suggested to remove the link between the Sales Order and the PO, then it will allow to create partial invoice. However, I need to keep the link with the PO coz I need to track the history of my SOP and POP.

Kindly let me know what solution have you reached with this?

Is there anyone out there facing similar scenario? how did you manage to overcome this problem?

    Regards,

    Maan
