Client is getting a warning / information message on Purchase Invoice page

Posted on by 336
Hi All,

One of our client is getting this message on Purchase Invoice page but when they press ok and click yes on the next page, they are able to proceed. Is there any way we can suppress this message and if we do what are the consequences of it.

Message

/You have changed the Posting Date on the purchase order, which might affect the prices and discounts on the purchase order lines. The change may affect the exchange rate that is used for price calculation on the purchase lines. You should review the lines and manually update prices and discounts if needed./

This only happens when they select a foreign vendor or with foreign currency but on the local currency it does not give any message.

Regards,

When you create a Purchase Order/Invoice and you manually enter a currency code, or your vendor has a default currency code, the system will automatically populate on the order a foreign exchange rate based on the posting date of your document. It populates the fx rate from the Currencies page. If you change the posting date, the system will want to update the fx rate as well, to the new posting date. Thats what the message you are getting is. Its recommended to click yes on this message, as you want the fx rate on the document to match your new posting date. You could 'suppress ' it as you are asking by getting a developer to modify some code, but i would never recommend that.

Likewise for prices and discounts, the system allows you to setup special prices and discounts that are only valid for a specific date range. When you add items to your order its going to look based on the posting date if the order has any special prices/discounts. If you change the posting date, then the previous special prices/discounts might not apply anymore, and the system is warning you that if thats the case, you must manually update the prices.

    Hello, good morning
Certainly these messages come out because the currencies that are not local generate an exchange rate, you have had to configure in currencies these exchange rates, the date impacts on this and that is why consult if you want to change it for the document.
    best regards
