Splitting purchase item into multiple pieces item

Hi All,

I've got a little problem. We buy spare parts from our mothercompany and we share the same Dynamics 365 (multiple entities). This means we are bound to the itemnumbers provided by them, but we can make our own itemnumbers.

Some of the items are 5 pieces to a bag and in Dynamics it states 1 (bag of 5). We would like to split this item to  new itemnumber with 1 piece to a bag.

What would be the best sollution in this case, without touching the production part of Dynamics? (Production part is not active)

I have the same question (0)

    Hi RoryvW ,

Can you please provide some technical details how you've currently designed your tables in Dynamics CRM? Are you using Product Catalogue or having custom entities?

If you can provide more details, it would be easy to suggest right solution according to your design.

Moreover, it is possible in Dynamics CRM to have parent child relationship (Like 1 Bag contains multiple Product Items 1: N) and Auto-generated columns as well.

    Thanks,

    Saud

    Hi Saud,

I'm not realy a pro user so I hope I can awnser you well.

We have 2 entities, I don't know how the tables are designed and how to find that. What I do know is that a lot is not set up yet.

    Hi RoryvW ,

No problem, I would suggest going through Microsoft documentation to learn how to manage relationships between two entities. If there is some relationship existing let say (1: N {One to Many}) then in this case, you can create multiple child items linked to the parent records and can show in a subgrid as well.

I would encourage you to go through doc, because it's really easy and you can do according to your business requirements.

Here is the link to learn about relationship in Dynamics CRM.

    Dynamics CRM Relationships Guide

Feel free to ask, if you have anything else.

    Thanks,

    Saud
