A restricted system administration role

We have a need for a role that has access to all AX functions including DIXF but no access to user administration such as creating users or assigning roles.

I created this new role by copying all available roles to it. The problem is that the new role doesn't allow the user to use DIXF.

How do I do this?

Hi,

Please assign the role DMFAdministrator to the user (or) include the privileges under it to the newly created role.

Thanks but the new role already has the DMFAdministrator role. It is in the list of roles and was copied over when making the new sys admin role.

It is not enough to put on all roles. You have to create a role which has all privileges, duties and roles assigned. Then if you want to limit it to not use certain functionality, you need to identify and remove those security entries specifically.

See if you are able to use DIXF afterwards.

Also please note that there are certain tasks in AX which only a true System administrator user can carry out. If you have assigned all security as per above and it still does not work, then it must be one of the few areas then.
