Unit Price on Sales Order Lines Update automatically when any data is changed

Unit Price on Sales Order Lines Update automatically  when any data is changed.  I have the Update Parameters all set to "Prompt", but the pricing updates without warning.  The typical scenario is that the pricing is manually entered, let's say $100, then when the description is changed (Sales Line Text), the unit prices changes from $100 to $0 (or whatever the price of the Item is in AX).  No one is catching this until the order is invoived, so there are a lot of orders going out the door with the wrong pricing.  How do I stop the unit price from updating upon changing any of the fields?  Also, I do not want to restrict price changes, I just want to keep what is entered.

    Hi Ansel,

What exactly are you referring to when you say 'Update parameters set to Prompt'?

I believe you can 'protect' manually entered prices using the Trade agreement evaluation functionality. You'll find it at A/R Parameters -> Prices.

If you Add a record here for 'Manual entry', I believe AX will prompt you before over-writing any manually entered prices.

    Guy,

I was referring to AR > Parameters > Updates > Update Order Lines.  You can set the updates to Prompt/Always/Never.  This is where I thought this would be set but apparently it was in Prices per your suggestion.  Thank you for the help, this appears to have fixed the issue.

All of our pricing is manual - I've added the record for 'Manual' and for 'AIF' which is where most of our pricing will come from.  However, for those orders that are being migrated from our previous system via DIXF, what are those prices considered to be?  They continue to be blanked out as users change quantities and I need to protect against that.  Any ideas?  (better yet, any way to turn off pricing all together and just allow manual entry?)

We are seeing the same thing. Whenever we convert an AX sales quote to a sales order the pricing that was manually put into the sales quote is brought onto the sales lines. When the customer service reps then go into the order lines to change delivery date information or anything else, the pricing automatically clears out (because it's all manual) and they need to look up what it was on the quote again. We also want the manually input pricing to remain.

    Hi Scott,

Have you looked at 'Trade agreement evaluation' functionality? You'll find it at A/R Parameters -> Prices. I guess you need a record here for 'Copied from sales quotation'.

    Guy,

Thank you for the tip. I checked this parameter and 'Copied from sales quotation' is already in this evaluation table, so that doesn't appear to be it.

Thank you for the heads up on this though. I had seen this section before and wasn't 100% sure how it worked, but now I understand!

I received the same complaint from users in different countries, which I didn't take too serious at first.

When the problem didn't go away I started looking into different scenario's and found the cause.

Often, after a sales order is created from a quote, you want to make some additional changes such as delivery date, warehouse, whatever. When making changes to the sales order header, AX proposes to roll out these changes to the order lines, right? Great stuff, but if you read ALL of the rather long (yea, yea, where's the OK button?) dialog, you see in the bottom that it also proposes to update the prices while it's at it. As a matter of fact, this is the default setting and unless you specify that you want to 'Keep all' prices, you will end up with the prices from your price/discount agreements instead.

Promoting a quotation to sales order does not automatically update the prices. That would be quirky.

    Hi Tom,

Have you found a solution for this issue? We face the same problem with migrated purchase orders. The pop up doesn't show when the user change quantity and blanck automatically the price.

    Thank you

We need to find a solution to this as well.

Having the prompt default to "Update All" is causing our folks to freak out here. Why would the slightest change on the Sales order need to change all the pricing on the order?

We would like to switch off this functionality, or at least have the prompt default to "Keep all"

Has anyone found a way to do that?

    Thanks

We are having the same problem and the CEO is freaking out. The popup dialog is full of cryptic text and users do what users do - hit the OK button as quickly as possible as though it was a porn site popup. I would really like to kill off the option to reset the prices completely - we NEVER want this to happen. Does anyone know of a way to do that? Failing that, the default choice in the dialogs should be to KEEP the manually entered prices, not to blow them away. Anyone know how to do that?

    Thanks
