Hi experts

Please can someone explain to me the relevance of and difference between the below 2 fields

1) Period between delivery and invoicing

2) Invoicing period

They are under cash flow forecast tab in AP Parameters.

I looked up on tech net and also various places on the internet, but still not sure.

Thanks in advance

    • Period between delivery and invoicing: select a value that represents the interval between the purchase order delivery date and the expected invoicing date of the order.

    • Invoicing period: select a value that represents the interval between future purchases transactions and the invoice date  - for example, Net + 1 days terms of payment). This value is applied to budget lines, open sales orders, and free text invoices.

Ax uses the specified terms of payment to calculate the expected invoice date when you calculate  based on open sales orders. The invoice date is calculated as the date of delivery, according to the sales order, plus the specified terms of payment.

Select the value that represents the interval between the transaction date of future sales (budget lines, open sales orders, and free text invoices) and the expected invoice date.

For example, when vendors usually send invoices three days after delivery, select payment terms such as Net+3 days.

That will help you better plan cash flow

If you deliver goods all week but invoice customers only on Fridays, then select terms of payment such as Current week + zero days.

If you invoice customers every day, select terms of payment such as Net + zero days.

Thank you very much. Still a bit muddled but better than before.
