Sender's Mailbox Disabled in CRM

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to CRM and I'm trying to make sure I have everything setup correctly. I'm trying to send a message to a test lead, through the activities tab in the lead form. Every time I press send, I get a pop up message saying this sender's mailbox is disabled. How can I enable my sender mailbox? Thanks!!!

Kimberly

    Hello Kimberly,

This issue could happen if 'the email address has not been approved' or 'the mailbox is not activated' try the steps mentioned in this article and hopefully it should help resolve your problem

    Hi Kimberly,

in order to have the sender's mailbox working, you have to configure the server side synchronization and then configure the email processing.

Server-side synchronization will connect Microsoft Dynamics CRM with one or more Exchange servers or POP3 servers for incoming email, and one or more SMTP or Exchange servers for outgoing email.

You can follow this guide on Technet : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531109%28v=crm.7%29.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Fabrice

If a mailbox is not configured correctly, CRM disables it. You need to go to Settings > Email Configurations > Mailbox Configuration and select the mailbox that is disabled. DoubleClick on it and review the configuration.

Once you think you are done, click on the icon Test & Enable mail box on the top. After a certain time(can be 5 to 10 min. Depending on the settings) you'll see the test results on the lower part of the same page. You can click on Alerts to see any possible error or success messages.
