Add phone call activity to outlook calendar

Hi,

I'm new to CRM and my environment contains the following: Exchange server 2013, CRM online, outlook 2013. I'm using outlook for CRM to sync information

I want to sync future phone calls, tasks, and appointments to my outlook calendar so I can block off the time. how do I go about doing this?

Hi Justin, welcome to MS CRM. This is a great community. You can use Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook to “track” email messages, appointments, contacts, and tasks. When you track an email message, appointment, contact, or task record in CRM for Outlook, a copy of that record is saved as an activity in CRM and synchronized with the Outlook record. You can then view and edit that record in CRM for Outlook or Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Phone calls do not sync across to your task list or calendar.

So to have anything from CRM show on your calendar you have to create it as an appointment. If you want to see tasks there are separate settings in Outlook that show your tasks along the bottom of the calendar view. So when you look at a week or day you see what is scheduled and what is on your to-do list.

Tom,

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad there is a feature that allows for that synchronization.

However, when I create appointments, whether through outlook for crm or in crm itself, appointments do not sync from to the outlook portion of the calendar. Do you know of any issue that could cause this?

This is incorrect. Phone Calls do synchronize to Outlook from CRM as tasks.
