NEW ISV installation in D365 FO in sw deployable packages

Hi ,
 
We want to install a new third party package lets say "ABCPayment".
 
They have shared the deployable package which we have in lcs - asset library of type "application deployable package".
I would like to understand how we will apply this package and move to different environments.
Do we directly apply this package the way we apply microsoft updates ?
 
 
I think in some cases we get a folder with ISV which is first installed in dev boxes and then checked in and moved to different environments.

and in case of any updates on the ISV it was installed again on local dev box and send again ,
