Hey guys I know this is pretty basic but for the life of me I cannot figure it out.

I am unable to share a personal view due to the button being greyed out.. I'm using Dynamics CRM 2011 on prem.

Here's what I have checked so far...

I have tested using vp of sales security role as well as other security roles...

VP of sales security role has the follow security role permissions set:

and

Maybe I am missing a access level on one of these fields, but I am not sure what else to check besides what I have specificed above. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Adam Mosley

My name is Andres Guzman, I'm glad to help you.

What happen if you try when you get a System Administrator security role. I think this should works for you.

Then, you need to validate if you have the security roles with the entity that you need to share, in this case, maybe is Opportunity.

Please let me know if you need something else.

    Regards,

    Hi Adam,

I try using the OOB Vice President of Sales and I can see the Share Button and it is enable, as shown here:

    savedview2.png

Is there any chance of your Out of the box role?

And if I remove the Share permission for Saved View, I even cannot see the Share Button.

    I remove this one:

    savedview1.png

    Then, here is the result

*I even cannot see the button

My suggestion, you check using other role, and confirm that this OOB Role is no chances.

After that, you can try to check using Ribbon Workbench.

Check this Enable Rule, I worry that there is another privilege required for this to make it enable.

Create a new solution, unmanaged one, then add saved view as the component to this solution.

Open the ribbon workbench, open this solution

And you can see the ribbon there for share saved view then you can inspect the enable rule of this.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Aileen you're the best ;)

I really want to start over with these security roles, the previous admin edited the OOB roles on the fly and I have no reference for the OOB default settings now.

Anyone know where to download the OOB roles for dynamics crm 2011 on prem??

btw this has to be a user setting in security roles, which I've checked several.

I say that because if you notice in my screen shot, the entire section is grey, not just the shared button.

At this point I just want to reset the security roles completely and start over. Anyone got a DL link or could someone email them to me by chance? amvbdev@gmail.com

    Thanks much, you guys rock.!

    Hi Adam,

Do you have the vanilla CRM?

You can get from there, if not then I will send to you.

Anyway, to make sure first, can you please help to assign that user VP to system admin and see if the ribbon still disable or not.

    Thanks.

I had the same issue. To get the Share button to work for me, the steps I took are as follows:

    1. Start from the Advanced Find Tab.
    2. Click the Saved Views button (not the tab).
    3. Then click the Saved Views tab.
    4. Select the view you wish to share and it the button should be active.
