I find the following enhancement on the Foreign Currency Revalution Form on AX 2012 will greatly increase the productivy of the Corporate Finance team for multi-national global corporations:
1.The selection of Main Accounts in the Foreign Currency Revaluation form is too restrictive. There is no option to select a group of main accounts that may be out of sequence based on the account number range. A view of selected main accounts should be available for user to unmark any main accounts that the user do not want to revalue for a specific exchange rate type or date range.
2.There is a missing option to specify the exchange rate type used for this form. It looks to the default exchange rate type in the Ledger form. Companies usually have multiple rate types to revalue their different groups of main accounts for balance sheet accounts or profit and loss accounts, month end revaluation. A workaround option is to go to the Ledger form and change the default exchange rate type there first and then come back to this form to run the necessary revaluation with related main accounts, i.e. BS accounts. Then you go back to the Ledger form and change the default exchange rate type to another type for Profit and Loss accounts. Come back to the Foreign Currency Revaluation Form to select the Profit and Loss accounts and then run the process.
A field to select an Exchange Rate Type should be available in this form to run with specific options of Balance or Profit and Loss Accounts.
3.The selection of currency code should be able to be marked on each currency code instead of from and to range. This is not consistent with the interface with other list selection forms.
4.This is a very important feature to our company which has subsidiaries all over the world and dealing with multiple currencies constantly.
