GP 2013 Manufacturing Orders SmartList Decimal Bug? How to Fix?

Posted on by 3,812

I am testing in GP 2013 SP2, I came across this potential bug in "Manufacturing Orders" SmartList. If the "Start Qty" or "End Qty" has "," comma for thousand separator, then if we export to excel, the numbers omits the trailing zeros.

For example: If "Start Qty"= "1,000" in SmartList, then excel export shows "1.00000". This is really strange. It does not happen when I try the same thing is GP 2010. Can anybody please confirm if this is a bug and what is the best way to resolve it?

    Thanks for your messages and link. I tested again using  "SmartlistEnhancedExcelExport=TRUE" and that particular Issue did not happen. But I have come across several other formatting issues when I used SmartlistEnhancedExcelExport, so I cannot use it.  I will try the "Export Solution" option that is mentioned in link. Thanks again!

    Dex.ini enhanced smartlist function is a simple yet unsupported solution since it may have negative ramifications regarding the uni code. That's all you need to be aware of.

    Mr. Mariano has provided other work around solutions, check the reference below;

    This seems to be an issue due to web client changes done for export to excel. The export process earlier used to be based on COM and now its based on Open XML to support web-client.

    I would suggest a workaround which worked for me.

    Add the below line to the Dex.ini file located at <GP Install Path>/Data:

    SmartlistEnhancedExcelExport=TRUE

    Hope this helps.
