Outlook 2015 Plugin and Outlook 2016?

Has anyone successfully installed the Outlook plugin with Outlook 2016?

My install hangs at this line:

16:42:23|Verbose| Method entry: Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.Config.OutlookConfigurator.InitializeMapiStoreForFirstTime

Any ideas?

I should add that I'm also on Windows 10 build 10122.

Hello Jeff,

I would like to inform you that Windows 10 and outlook 2016 are not compatible and supported with CRM yet. However, Just for testing purpose, you can try configuring the CRM with outlook 2013 on windows 7/8 system to find out if it's CRM or outlook or windows issue.

Satish, I think the fact that Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 are not yet supported is pretty clear. I'm part of the Insider program, and I'm trying to get the feedback in that the plugin doesn't work. Where should I do that if not this forum?

They're aware it doesn't work, but you could go to Microsoft Connect and submit feedback on the Dynamics feedback area.

Thanks Wayne - good to know the issue is known. Do you know if it is Windows 10 or Office 2016?

I had a look at the list of Products to provide feedback on in Connect and I don't see a product that is applicable.

And I suspect the answer you're going to get is "both". CRM compatibility has almost always been post-release for new versions of Office and Windows. Doesn't help that Microsoft Edge comes into play as a replacement to IE as well.

I'm running Windows 10130 and Office 2016 preview (current version: 16.0.4201.1002) and have the CRM plugin for 2015 working just fine.

I'm running Windows on a VM using parallels on my Macbook so used the i386.exe, but had no issues installing and using it, below is the link where I got the download:

I have Windows 10 GTM installed with Outlook 2013 and the CRM 2015 Outlook Client crashes on install. So, it may be both and definitely Windows 10.

Interestingly, when I upgraded from Windows 8.1 the Outlook client was working. I removed it because of that annoying "wrapping up" system modal popup was happened multiple times an hour. I then tried to reinstall it and it crashes.

I also tried installing CRM 2013 Outlook client and that also crashes.

I haven't tried it recently Mike. I'm not running 2016 on my production machine and my Win10 machine has been through so many insider upgrades that other stuff has broken. Sorry this isn't more helpful.
