We are running GP 18.5.1596 and SQL and Windows server 2016. We need to upgrade our SQL to either 2019 or higher. What is the recommended path to do this upgrade?

    Hi, 
    You can safely upgrade to SQL Server 2019, which is supported with Dynamics GP 18.5. No need to upgrade GP if staying on SQL 2019. For SQL 2022, GP must be upgraded to 18.6.

    Backup all GP databases (including DYNAMICS and all company DBs)

     

    Test the upgrade in a sandbox if possible

     

    Perform an in-place upgrade of SQL Server or migrate to a new server

     

    Verify all GP components and third-party tools are working post-upgrade
