What happens to a disabled/unlicensed User's Contacts in CRM for Outlook?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Once the CRM for Outlook Client is removed from a disabled User's Outlook, will the existing, formerly-synched Contacts disappear out of their Address Books, or just break the synch connection and not update anymore, but still remain?

If a disabled User's Contacts are deleted, are they gone forever, or just remain in an inactive state?  Can they be permanently deleted (provided no other Connections in CRM)?

Thank you!  I thought that would be the case, but wanted to be sure!

    1) They will not automatically disappear from their address books. You will have to delete them manually.

    2) In CRM you have the option to delete (gone forever) and deactivate records (remains in system). It is up to you to decide what action/option you want to do.

    3) There is also an option to transfer all user records to another person. You can find it in the toolbar of a user record.
