How to configure licencing in the products that are belongs to you?

Hi all

I make a product. I need to give it for trials and for different periods to users and organisations. How can I handle periods and versions in my product. In other words How to configure licencing in my products as Microsoft and others are handling?  Please do suggest me the solution.
