Requisition Create Date field in RQREQHDR

When entering a requisition in SL 2011 FP1, the create date is not populated when the requisition is saved - it shows 1900-01-01 as the date. This causes problems when printing the requisitions as the date appears as 01-01-1900 and not the date it was created.

I have tested this out and if the requisition is immediately submitted for approval the create date field in rqreqhdr gets timestamped with today’s date but if the requisition is saved and then gone back to, the date in the create date field is 1900-01-01.

Can you please explain to me why and/or let me know if there is a fix/work around.
