Hi Experts,

May I know if you encountered the error below and how did you resolve it?

It is generated by 'Outlook plugin' when we tried connecting to an organization.

Version: Dynamics CRM 2016 Update 1 - On-Premise

07:09:28| Info| Error connecting to URL: test/.../Discovery.svc Exception: System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityNegotiationException: The caller was not authenticated by the service. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The request for security token could not be satisfied because authentication failed.
at System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityUtils.ThrowIfNegotiationFault(Message message, EndpointAddress target)
at System.ServiceModel.Security.SspiNegotiationTokenProvider.GetNextOutgoingMessageBody(Message incomingMessage, SspiNegotiationTokenProviderState

Any advice please?

    Hi Rolando,

    Are the client machine joined to the domain? Or are you having IFD?

    These are prerequisite to get outlook plugin work in a on-prem env.

    The machine is operating within the VPN.

    Ah...

    VPN does have connectivity issue - please use below to configure the port etc

    blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../ports-to-be-opened-for-configuring-crm-outlook-client-over-vpn
