Hi,

Ax2012 R3.

We are running AX 2012 R3 and  using project timesheet workflow and it is running fine.

We want to add a auto approval condition in workflow to auto approve the timesheet after 1 day.

What kind of condition is required to achieve the above requirement?

Thanks in advance.

go inside the approval step and configure auto-approval using escalation.

this will not escalate workflow anywhere but will auto approve.

    Hi Sohaib,

Thanks for providing the link. I will add this and test to confirm.

    Hi Sohaib,

I have tried this by adding the limit to 1 hour and then set the escalation to 1 hour.

I can see the workItemCreated and below details.

"Assigned to user: Due date 18/01/2016 12:39" which is exactly one hour after I submitted the timesheet but time sheet did not get approved after 1:30 minutes passed.

any ideas why it  didn't work?

    thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Nadeem

I am unable to understand what you said in your recent reply. kindly try to elaborate your case.

apologies, I repeated some of the test. I have tried the escalation option for 1 hour and it did not work in first instance. I have tried it second time and it has worked.

I will carry out one more test and come back.

    Hi Sohaib,

Escalation is actually working but approval happens close to 2 hours or some time around 1 hour 30 minutes which could be due to "Workflow due date process" batch job running after every one hour.

I have changed the recurrence for this batch job to 10 minutes to see whether escalation will happen closer to  one hour, otherwise setting it to 2 minutes will give the desired result.

I will test this scenario now.

yeah that is something related to Batch processing. The duty of workflow framework is finished after giving tasks/workitems to BATCH job.

    Working accordingly now.

    Resolution:

    1- Use workflow escalation feature.

2- setup recurrence for batch job "Workflow due date process" accordingly.

    Thanks Sohaib.
