Hello,

Scenario:

Server crashed

C Drive corrupted.

Database files were stored on the c drive and by extension is now corrupted.

Backups also stored on c drive also now corrupted.

No offsite backups were taken.

Does anyone know any steps that can be followed to retrieve the corrupted backup or the mdf and ldf files?

If you have the mdf and ldf files available, you can attach them in a new SQL Server instance.

Along with Leslie, the only other thing I could mention is maybe posting this question on the SQL Server support forums, as they may see more this type of issue than we do on the Dynamics GP side, and may be able to give some other options, if you haven't already gotten past this.

I know I don't know of a way without the backup files and/ or mdf and ldf files......

    Thanks

    RE: Corrupt Database Backup

It might be time to engage a company that specializes in data retrieval for situations like this. Also, they desparately need a backup routine that will either store a backup offsite, or you could use a service like Carbonite or Acronis (or both) to be sure this won't hapen again.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
