Critical error in function InventCostMovement.checkVariance

I'm seeing this error when I generate the receipt for a PO on specific items. When it first occurred the Unit Price had been edited on the item so I assumed it was that, but we're getting it on these items when no edits are made to the price on the PO.

The INVENTCOSTTRANSVARIANCE.COSTAMOUNT is showing a number that we can't figure out

Is this stocked or non-stocked items?

Can you check if main accounts are selected for those items in posting type Stock variation for "Purchase order" in inventory posting profile or not.

Also check if setting main account in posting type Cost change variance for "Standard cost variance" is actually solving this issue or not.

Else; better to raise a ticket to MS Support to get a clarity on this case.

You can check this in below path.

Inventory management > Setup > Posting > Posting.

Thanks for the feedback.

Could you kindly set appropriate main account for Stock variance posting type and after that check if this is solving this case or not.

I faced same issue months back and got it solved by setting appropriate main accounts in this posting type.

Please try and check the result if this is fine now.

Hi cicconej582,

Hope you have set the "Stock variance" for all those items or item groups for which you are getting this error.

Also, just make sure that when you are trying to post the product receipt; the amount is showing in "Unit price" as well as in "Line net amount" column.

If this is not the case, then I would suggest to log a support case in MS Support.

Else, you can wait for other members in this forum to share their input on this.
