Hi Folks,

is it possible to create a /whatsapp button/ that has similar behavior to the phone call button attached to the phone fields?

When I click in the CRM phone button next to the phone field, This is what happens:

1) CRM calls the associated phone app on windows (similar to a hiperlink tel:)
2) Opens the create phone activity quick form

At the whatsapp button it would happen similar:

1) CRM calls a whatsapp start chat URL
2) Opens the create /whatsapp activity/ (custom activity entity) quick form.

Any thoughts how to do it?

Regards

    Hi,

Our team has analyzed your requirements, but based on the information you have provided our team is unable to determine which button you are referring to, are you referring to a button similar to the one in the image below? If not, please give us a specific picture.

According to our team's testing, when you click on the above button, it will call a "TEL:XXXX", and when you click on this link, it will call the device that supports the phone to make the call.

WhatsApp has a similar feature, you can refer to the documentation in the link below.

    Hey Rudy!

    it´s exactly this button!!!!!

I would like to create anoter one for whatsapp! I know how to produce the whatsapp link, what I could not figure out is how to create a button like that... I am not a expert dynamics sales developer and I did not find a way to do it using power apps or the old dynamics sales configuration interface.

Also, I need it to perform 2 actions:

    1) call the whatsapp link (easy to compose)

    2) open a quick form create whatsapp activity (custom activity)

Can you help me with that?

Yes, it's possible to create a WhatsApp button that behaves like the phone call button in your CRM. Clicking it would:

1- Open a WhatsApp chat URL: similar to how the phone call button opens the phone app, this button would use the "wa.me" URL format to initiate a chat with the contact's phone number.

2- Trigger a custom activity: upon clicking, this button would automatically open a quick form for a "WhatsApp activity" (a custom entity you create) with the contact details pre-filled.

This functionality can be achieved through custom development, potentially involving Javascript and CRM platform APIs.
