Production - BOM Cost Shares Report Average Cost

Hi All

All the items are using FIFO costing (finished goods and Components) and when running BOM Cost Shares report, it takes average cost if component item is in stock (and last cost if not in stock). Is there a report where we can simulate cost roll up using last cost. The requirement is for quoting based on BOM structure, last cost is more realistic in some situations as average cost might be outdated.

Thanks. A custom report is what I was thinking. The actual cost that gets to the production order is not very relevant in this use case as we are quoting to customers for future sales in a rising cost environment such as now last cost (including landed cost) help adding the sales margin

A custom version of this page could be created, but to be honest the trouble will be that if the item with the average cost is consumed on a DIFFERENT production order (ie: you don't produce it in the sequence you calculate the cost in) then your actual cost from the FIFO layer may not have anything to do with the cost you see in your BOM Shares.

Average cost is at least going to be more or less close to what you might actually use.

If that doesn't make sense just reply and we can get into more detail.
