Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 - Maximum Number of Users Signed In

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello All,

-- This is my first post on here, so I apologize if this was already covered --

One of my clients has 8 GP licenses for desktop users but only 7 can log in at a time before it gives you the message that the maximum number of users are already logged in.

I'm pretty new to GP myself, but I feel confident enough to get to the VM and run a script if need be.

Any suggestions would be nice. I posted here because my client is sick of paying their consulting company too much money.

Thank you.

    Hi Troy,

Aside of the path indicated by Leslie (which requires zero access to SQL Back-end and is the most secure way), you can also check in GP 2016 your license summary :

Administration >> Setup >> System >> User >> Summary button

This will tell you exactly how many users are licensed and which type, within your registered license keys.. aside of a list of logged in users / user type.

Yes, you can able to view the ACTIVITY Table in SQL Server Management Studio 2014.

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum!!

I think you can do this from within the user interface. Go to Administration | Utilities | System | User Activity

SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY to see who is currently logged into GP.

If you do need to delete someone make sure they are currently not logged into GP. If you delete a user who is logged into GP they will quickly get a message that they are no longer logged in and you will get a phone call.

P.S. If your reseller charges you for every little thing it is time to find another reseller.

Check about window for registered users.

    Run the Query in SQL

    USE DYNAMICS

    Select * from Activity

If you find any record in Table mean ,use  the below query and login again

    USE DYNAMICS

    Delete from Activity
