CIF Integration OnClickToAct event timeout error

We have implemented integration to a 3rd party soft phone using CIF in D365 CRM. The problem we having is that certain users are not able to make calls by clicking on the Custom CIF Control (phone icon). We get the following error in the Developer Tools window.

I've looked at below topics with similar issues but there's no resolution.
Anyone experienced a similar issue and resolved it? Help will be much appreciated.
