New products are not included in assortment and Process assortment takes hours

Hi,

Our customer has 80'000 products and 60 active stores. When new product assigned to the retail category is created it's not visible in store list (Retail Channel-->button View Store products). We have to process the assortment first - Retail-->Periodic-->Process Assortments. This process takes more than 2 hours. (Note: no changes are made in assortment setup.)

Is it possible to add new products in assortmet in different way to see them immediatly in store product list? Why process assortment is so slowly?

    No other way, this is the correct way to do it.

    The reason is that the assortments are very flexible. You can use stores and/or (parts of) organizational hierarchies, and products and/or (part of) retail category hierarchies. Both can be included or excluded. The organizational hierarchy can change over time. etc etc.

    What product is in which assortment(s) has to be calculated. This is done by the Process Assortments job. You could check LCS if there are any hotfixes on it. But I suggest to close all no longer in use assortments and schedule the job to run in batch.

    thanks for the replay.

    I think it woud be faster if there are two ways of process assortment - full (when assortment setup is changed) and short (when only new items are created).

    I will check LCS.
