Lookup Field Not Autopopulated When Creating a New Record

Hello,

Just did a side by side comparison with a user for adding new related records to an entity.

We have a sub-grid linked to Projects that in the classic interface allows new records to be added to the parent entity while in the parent record.  The new child records automatically reference the project because of the relationship created by lookup fields.

In the new interface a quick create form opens and navigates away from the parent entity. How can this be avoided?  It creates extra work for the users who now have to manually link the project to the child record.

Thanks,

Beth

    Hello Beth,

Can you check that the project and child entity, and especially the child entity Quick Create form are also part of the app you are using?

Because the relationship is filled with my experience of the Unified Interface.

So any child record to a project has the "Project" lookup filled.

    Hi Henry,

Thanks for responding. I checked the entities and the quick create form as you suggested.  The problem was the account name (customer) field was missing from the quick create form.  Added that on and all is good now.

    Thanks!

    Beth
