Frx moving to MR

We are working on the migration part so we have a Server test environment for GP

So when I went to FRx to compact the DB is showing me that a user is in, I went to production DB, and yes we have user

I was trying to make Frx point the test environment and I know I'm in the right server, but everything what I do in Frx test is hapenning in production

Is obvious that I am missing something but I don't know where any suggestions.??

Thanks

    RE: Frx moving to MR

    I'm having the same issue.  I think it's because the Spec Set copied over has the path to the production .F32 file.  But I can't find where to change the path, and when I try to change it in the app, I can't because it tells me there are users working in FRx (which is correct because this is the production path).  how can the .F32 path be changed on my test server?

    I have clone the DB and I have copy a sysdate on the C; drive,  I have changed the ODBC to point the Test environment and  the FRX32.CFG file as well, when I go to compact, just say it cant be done because a user has something open as report designer, report manager, etc

    Pat, I think you might have an additional problem

    If you simply copied the production FRx folders over to the TEST server and did not edit the content of the CFG file, then you will be pointing to the PRODUCTION server no matter what you change in many parts of FRx applicaion.

    Please make a back up of the file prior to making the noted changes.

    Open the FRX32.CFG file that is found in the FRx6.7 folder - where you have FRx installed on the TEST Server

    [System]

    Sys32TypeId=104A9C6A34
    [SysData]
    Directory=D:\Applications\FRx Software\FRx 6.7\SysData\

    If you have simply copied the files over, this should be pointed to the PRODUCTION server.

    Edit the content to make the path point to the TEST Server installation of FRx.

    Launch FRx and see what happens now.

    Please make a back up of the file prior to making the noted changes.

    Let us know if this helps.

    Hi Pat,

    In order to change admin password of FRX please refer the following from Microsoft KB.

    This password will allow you to access FRx and reset the password with a new one for that day only. In order to reset the password without knowing if your old password was correct, you will want to follow the steps below:

    1) Log in as Administrator and enter the password of the day.

    2) Once logged in, go to Admin and then click Organization and then click FRx security. Once inside, turn off security and then log out of FRx. By turning off security, this will allow you to change the Admin Password to a new password, without knowing the old one.

    3) Launch back into FRx and go to Admin and then click Organization and enter in the Admin password of the day for the administrator login password.

    4) Once in the Organization Information window, click Admin password.

    5) For the Old Password, tab through this field. Then enter in the new password and click OK. It should now accept the new password even without knowing the old password. If an Admin password is not desired, tab through the New Password and Verify fields.

    6) Once the new password is setup, then turn the FRx security back on in the Organization Information window by clicking FRx security.

    7) Log out and log back into FRx. The new Administrator password should now work.
