Will CNV roles created in gp 8-10 upgrade automatically upgrade without additional work in upgrade from 10-GP2010

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Client is on GP 10 SP1.  They upgraded from GP 8 a few years ago and did not change security to the role based security.  So they have all of the roles out there with the CNV prefix.  They are okay with that for now, but they now want to upgrade to GP2010.  Their question is - will the CNV roles created previously during the upgrade to 10 automatically upgrade to GP2010 without any additional work

It's also highly suggested to audit your security and remove those converted roles

Yes there is no security conversion from GP 10 to GP 2010. This information is held in the Dynamics database so just like other information it will just upgrade seemlessly as it is just stored in a table.
