Hi,

I'm upgrading from GP8 SP5 to GP11 using two VM.

VM1 - OS Windows 2003, SQL Server 2000 SP4, GP8 SP5 and GP10 SP2

VM2 - OS Windows 2008 R2, SQL Server 20008 R2, GP10 hotfix (KB2552042) and GP11 hotfix (KB2552044)

  • First step upgrade from GP8 SP5 to GP10 SP2  using the SQL 2000 SP4 - upgrade sucessful
  • Second step backup database from SQL Server 2000 SP4 and restore into SQL Server 2008 R2 and set the compatibility to 2008
  • Third step apply the GP10 hotfix using the GP10 utilities in the VM2, the hotfix is sucessfully applied and I launch the GP10 with hotfix - Fine
  • Fourth Step upgrade from GP10 hotfix to GP11 hotfix, system database upgrade run with no error, however at the middle of the company database upgrade I encountered error "The stored procedure getDBName() of form duSQLInstall Pass Throught SQL returned the following results: DBMS: 58, Microsoft Dynamics GP:0." then I click the OK button and warning message appears "No privilege to open"

I can't find a soluton from the net. Any one knows the reason why I encountered this error? I appreciate if you can help me.

Thanks,
Ronie

    Hi Jonathan,

Sorry for late reply this is due to our long holiday in our country, yes I switch all the databases to 100 compatibility level, however I found out the cause of the error this is due to the connection interruption (logged off/disconnected) during upgrade, the SQL server automatic stop with no reason during upgrade.

This time I already done my upgrade. Than you for you time.

    Thanks,

    Ronie
