Cloud hosted D365 FO envt LCS service update fails with zero step

Hi,

I have a cloud hosted environment which I am trying to update with the latest service however I am facing a very strange issue.

The update is failing in the preparation task itself as shown in the below screen shot.

Also the packages are not even downloaded in the folder : K:\DeployablePackages which is a bit strang.

I have used the same login id to update the environment 1 month back and everything was executed successfully.

Currently I have platform update : 49....

has anyone faced such issue before.

Does this error has anything to do with your azure subscription id  ?

Thanks,

VK

    Hi VK,

For more information on the error, you can download and examine the log file.

    Hello vicky1234,

This could be caused by the fact that Internet connection on the VM is not strong enough to communicate with LCS.

Kindly restart the VM, reconnect then re-apply the package.

tried multiple times. There is no issue of internet as we are able to download files of bigger sizes

    Hello,

Please, what is the nature of the package being applied ?

Can you apply another package and see the outcome ?

Few things I think you should do.

Do a full build of all models.

Create a new deployable package and retry.

I suggest you confirm that none of the Drives is full.

    Hi Komi,

    Thanks for the reply .

I am trying to apply service update 53 /update 52 on my dev cloud hosted system via LCS -> apply updates.

I applied similar microsoft updates 1 month back and there was no reply. I have also done a full build on my dev envt.

We raised it with Microsoft but there is no accurate reply, what they said is that maybe the resource group got deleted but that is something which is not possible because if the resource group is deleted than all the resources of that group will be deleted.

Currently my VM is having 49.. platform version

    Thanks,

    VK

    Hi Vicky,

I have seen this issue once before, but at that time, the VM got shut down and was not running. Do you have other environments where you don't have this issue? Anyway, if you keep having issues, you can easily deploy a new development environment. You can take a DB backup of the current VM (if required) and connect the new development instance to DevOps to get the latest source code.

If you need the DB backup and restore, it would be recommended to deploy a VM with the same version as you have now. Then restore the DB and then apply the update(s) again.

I had the same issue and in my case, the SSL certificates had expired. Once the SSL certificates are rotated from LCS the upgrade went ok
