Custom Report not working in CRM but working on Server

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All

,
We have this custom report working perfectly when running in <URL>/Report

But when we run this on the CRM, it gives us an error

Any idea what could be the problem?
Anything will be helpful.

Thank you,
Christell

    Hi Akhil,

Apologies for the wrong reply, we use shared data source

Can you share the query used to retrieve the shared dataset?

Which entity are you trying to retrieve?

It should work if you are trying to run the report for more than one record.

    Thanks

    AKHIL

    Hi Akhil,

We are running the report on the report entity directly.

    We are using shared dataset.

I just find it odd, because we can run the report on the report server but not in the CRM. That is why I'm sure it is not on retrieving the report.

    Anything would be helpful.

    Hi Christell,

Are you running the report as shown below or are you opening the record and running the report from there?

How many datasets you are retrieving and how are you passing the guid for that entity? Please share sql query.

If you are running this report for a single record you need to have a parameter guid for the current record and you need to have a custom button for passing the guid as parameter using a java script to the report.

    Thanks

    Akhil

    Hi Arif,

    Thank you for the reply.

We have 2 parameter, Start Date and End Date.

I am not sure if we are using prefiltering in fetch, but I am sure we are using SQL since were on premise.

    Hi Akhil,

    Thank you for the reply.

    It is on premise.

We are calling this report on the Report Entity directly. No custom button.

    Menu > Service > Report

    Thanks,

    Christell

    Hi Christell,

Is it online or on premise?

How are you calling this report... is it through a custom button using java script.... please share how you are passing the guid of the entity record and the parameters Start Date and End Date?

    Thanks

    Akhil

    Hi Christell,

How many paramters you are passing to the report through CRM? I believe you are using pre-filtering in fetchxml.

Just check whether parameters are properly being set.

    Hope this helps.
