Sales Costs Account and Analitycal Accounting

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, with Anallitycal Accounting (AA) activated and configurated, accounts have your class ID assigned for AA.

I created a sop transaction, an Invoice, when I check on sop distributions and consulting AA distributions appear two options to assign dimensions, but only one allow it (Sales Account), the last one does not posible selecting to assign its dimensions (that account is Sales Costs, It's no appear on SOP distributions).

I try to post that transaction, throw it an exception, because there is an analitycs distribution without assigned dimensions (Sales Costs).

now, I have questions, Is AA configuration not correct?, some else configuration is needed?, should Sales Costs Account not be assigned (marked) as AA class?

Please, I need your help on this, thanks.

    Hi Mahmoud

Thanks for your shorter answer, I worked for me.

The first points on your suggestions was not correctly configurated , i fixed it and ckecked other ones, I realized some ítems did not set a value for ítem cost  so the COGS account did not fix on AA distributions. All things were resolved.

    Regards..

The sales account can be linked to Analytical Accounting. Therefore, I would recommend checking the AA setup, you need to make sure of the following:

    • Transaction Dimension and associated Codes; each transaction dimension could have multiple codes (Cards> Financial > AA > TRX Dimension Code), it is important to check the field (Linked to Note) as well
    • Check the Account Class Maintenance, on which you link a class to a TRX Dimension Code to enter analysis information (Cards> Financial > AA > Accounting Class). On the Analysis Type, you have multiple options to choose from (Not Allowed, Optional, Required and Fixed)
    • Finally, and most importantly, check the Account Class Link. In this window, the Sales Account mentioned in your Sales Invoice Transaction, must be linked to the class.
Once these details are checked and correctly setup, the "Analytical Sales Transaction Entry" will pop up on the Distribution when this account is used, you will be able to enter analysis information based on the setup mentioned above.
    Hope this helps,
