Hi,

A question about audit logs. In the past, as long as there is an update, audit log will record that, even new and old values are all the same, as in this post; however yesterday, we noticed another pattern for Dynamics 365

There are no log entries generated as long as the old values and new values are the same, even updates are triggered by various reasons.

For sure logs are still generated while new values and old values are different. We tried to verify with the experts this is what expected with the latest Dynamics 365.

Hi Ning,

I created one on-demand workflow to test it:

The results are indeed as you described:

If i run the workflow again when the value of the "Fax" field is "11", no new audit history record appears.

Hi,

Is This behaviour exists at on premises version ?

As I know in on premises the audit trigger whatever the old value equal the new value or not.
