How to handle a product attached in a buddle as well as individual

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear all,

In our business we need sometimes to propose to our customer buddle product configuration in order to avoid confusion from our sales when it comes more technical and what to délivrer.

I have notice that if i start to prepare a Budle name and start to add my components into the bundle, that is fine I can do it. But then I am not able anymore to use a single component which has been attached to a bundle.

For exemple imagine I attached to bundle a 8GB RAM product.

Then an other customer wants a single 8GB of RAM, I cannot find it any more because it is part of bundle.

Any one can guide me on how to setup this simple thiing, if this is the way microsft hande buddle , then is totally unlogical because a product can be part of a bundle or not and could be use as we want.

Thnaks for that

regards

I have try what you suggest, no problem to add product to my bundle which I named B1 for instance. All my product in my product bundle belongs to PRICELIST2017.

Then whan I try to create a quote, I am not able to add or find my bundle.

So what I does if I consider my bundle as a product, I try to add it also to PRICELIST2017, but then I get an error that it cannot be done because my products in the bundle are not part of that price list, and I am sure they are.

Any idea what is going on and how to solve it ?

    Hi Sergec,

I haven't worked with bundles too much but this should be allowed. Here's some documentation that may answer your question. The post is a comparison of product bundles and kits at www.microsoft.com/.../create-product-bundles-to-sell-multiple-items-together.aspx

The relevant quote is "You can’t sell the products in a kit individually or separately, but you can mark certain products in a bundle as optional, and sell them individually."

One way to read it is that the product can be sold individually outside the bundle (what you're looking for), another interpretation is that the user can select some items from that bundle to include (which is definitely a feature that exists).

From everything I've seen, you don't need to create a new product just for a bundle. Make sure your component products are all published and everything else is set up. Also, when you try to add the product to your order make sure to check the view and see if it's filtering out products that are part of a bundle.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
