updating customer list in system with new fields

Hi Experts,

If we want to update any master data we use data import export module or write job to fulfil that requirement .But my requirement is:

All the customers are there but i developed new fields on that customer master and importing data to it any solution ?? Can i write sql queries directly to SQL server db. Thanks in advance.

Hi - if the new field value is going to be same for all the customer then you can write a runnable job and use update_recordset and update all the records

But if you want the new fields should be updated in future, then you need to add the new fields in the data entity as well

Hi Shabir,

SQL would be possible, but it would be better to write an x++ job or extend the data entity. Using an option within AX triggers cache refresh; direct SQL not.
