Automatic creation of Manufacture date when Manually creating a Batch Number

When creating a batch number manually I want the Manufacture Date to be the Created date.

I know I have seen this happen before but cannot replicate it in the environment that I'm in.  Is there a setting somewhere that defaults the created date to the Manufacture date when you create the batch number?

    Hi Ansel,

    1.Go to the Released products>Select Item>Manage Inventory(Fast tab)>Batch number group(Check activatation is set for Inventory/Purchase/Production)

    2.Also  Ensure Shelf advice days,Shelf period days  and Best before days are mentioned
