Error Deleting Leads

I'm new to Dynamics and have been working on importing data from SalesForce.com.  My problem is that when Leads get entered into the system (either through the import utility or manually) they cannot be deleted.  When attempting to delete a Lead it generates a Generic SQL Error.  Bulk deletion also throws the same error.  I believe this may be due to the number of dependencies in the backend database but it is all still set up with default settings.  Any help would be much appreciated.

    Darren,

    This is very odd.

You should be able to delete any records as long as you have permissions to do so.

What process did you follow to import that data into CRM?

    Did you follow this article?

    Hi Darren

Use Diagnostic tool for Dynamics CRM 2011 (crmdiagtool2011.codeplex.com) for more detail about that error.

So, if I understand the situation correct now whatever has been imported cannot be deleted. What if you try to create a new one (not import) and then try to delete that, is that working or that is also giving an error message, if that is also giving SQL error then just verify this from another system and from a user who is a system admin and then log a support case with MS to look into this issue from the backend.

    Thanks,

There is nothing like that the imported records cannot be deleted and created records can delete. Internally there might be some dependencies are there it seems, that are not allowing you to delete. Check in the event viewer you may find the exact root cause for the issue and you can resolve the issue.

One more thing when you creating record manually are you filled all the fields which are there in the excel/CSV you are importing.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Prasanth.
