How to migrate Business Edition NAV to Business Central?

There must be a guide of best practices for making this migration.   I assume that the data is not hard to move, but re-mapping might be extensive?   Is there a new migration tool or gotchas?

At the moment the supported way to migrate data from NAV to D365BC are Configuration Packages (Rapidstart) or loading data via API or WS. A way for direct migration is on the roadmap.

    Hi

When the new verion will ready  in october, you should be able to migrate , from nav too bc

Their should be a tool for this.

First you have to upgrade your nav, and make your devlopments in to extensions

Jason,  That is very cool that an old NAV invoice can be recalled.  I assumed transaction history would be archived.

Our concern in other migrations is data mapping.  Balances, customer data, etc.  Some are easy and some take a lot of time.   For a NAV customer to move to BC, what have you observed?  Is there an FAQ?   What are best practices for NAV to BC migration?  Thx

Jeff are you talking about moving over balances like during an implementation from another ERP or full transactional history?  For example I could open my instance of BC and pull up an invoice that was created in NAV a few years ago.  Thanks for posting this one.
