What is the purpose of "Floor Plan Due Date" in "Lot Number List" and "Serial Number List" Reports? and how is it calculated?

As far as I can tell, it's included on four reports: the Serial Number Report, the Serial Number Report by Site, the Lot Number Report and the Lot Number Report by Site. I couldn't find a place where that field was anything other than the IV_Purchase_Receipt date. If it's used for anything, I don't think it's part of the core Dynamics functionality.
