Management reporter: "Unable to connect to XYZ company. You don't have access to this company"

Dear All,

When I open AX and start the Financial reports and Click new (or edit or any function) I get the following message after the successful log in to MR : "Unable to connect to XYZ company. You don't have access to this company"

I'm facing the above error message when I would like to open MR. I can still access the security set up part of the MR and there I can see my user listed as Admin, and the company in question is set to allowed

MrComp.jpg

I have both SysAdmin and Security Admin rights. My user has a worker assigned to it and the company in question is assigned to my user as default as well.

Earlier we had a database copy and due to it the data in MR did not resemble the actual data in the system. To solve this inconsistency issue we did a data mart rebuild. (based on this article: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dynamics_financial_reporting/2016/06/28/resetting-the-management-reporter-data-mart/)

This error is new and is only there since the data mart rebuild. Thus I believe it has something to do with it, perhaps something incorrectly set up.

Did anybody have similar issues after a data mart rebuild? And if yes, some pointer and ideas on how to resolve it would be much appreciated.

Thank you for the help

After a Deployment the log in issue was solved, but sadly the data inconsistency is still there. By data inconsistency I mean the companies that are available to select from in the MR (when building a reporting tree definition for companies)  are not the same companies that are in the AX itself.

Does anybody perhaps have any ideas about this?

    Thank you

    Hi Emilia

I'm facing the same issue (platform update 6) and have tried to reinstall the data mart and other things. Since it didn't help I have create an incident in LCS and received the following suggestions to solve the issue:

    1. Find the mrruntimeuser password in the LCS environment
    2. Run the following against the nac-test_mrdb_bb2e84142cd4426c
      1. ALTER USER mrruntimeuser WITH PASSWORD = '<LCS_Password>'

    1. Run IISRESET and restart the Management Reporter 2012 Process Service

None of this solved the issue, so next week I'm having a phone call with the support engineer from Microsoft and hopefully we can fix the issue. :-)

    Best regards

    Hi Sten,

We just change to platform update 7, but still face the data inconsistency problem.

Funny enough transaction data is correct and there are no differences. But when it comes to data like Legal entity or Financial dimension values we have differences.

FROM[FinancialReportingDb].[Datamart].[Organization] -> here the data that came back was correct

    but when

    FROM[FinancialReportingDb].[Reporting].[ReportingCompany] ->

The incorrect data is there when we execute this call.

So currently we are also waiting for MS to provide some support. :-)

Still would be interested in what you get as information.

    Kind Regards,

    Emilia Rauschenberger

    Hi Kar_Gilson,

Are you facing the same issue after Data Mart rebuild?

We had an issue (but Dynamics GP not AX)  that was caused by the underlying SQL account that is used by MR was locked out, as soon as the SQL account was unlocked (possibly also worth checking for any orphaned SQL accounts especially if data restored from another SQL server)
