I have a locked custom opportunity field and I don't know why its locked

It is not:

Read only
Field Security profile blocked
Security Role
Part of a business rule.

It is a global option set...and I don't see any difference between this one and a bunch of others that we use. I can enter data in the field but I am the administrator. Any ideas? I'm stumped on this one.

No javascript.

check if you have "append to" on that entity, or Javascript issue

is there a javascript attached to the form? If yes, could it be locking the field?
