I am trying to create user permission sets in Dynamics BC365 and I am seeing a long list of different permissions that can be applied to users. However, I can't tell what permissions they give specifically. Does anyone have any resources that define what each permission means? That way I can appropriately assign permissions to my different users?
Each Permission in the long list, gives user access to use this object.
For TableData You have option to indicate Read/Insert/Modify and Delete permissions, but for others You only have the Execute permission.
So for example to open Customer list, and see them, use has to have Read permissions for table 18. To see Customer Balance, he would need also the Customer Ledger Entries table permission to Read.
In permission sets there is option to record permissions. You press the record button, and then perform the actions You want user to be able to do (create document / post it). Once done, press the stop button, and it will generate all the needed permissions. Be sure to test afterwards some other scenarios - and add manually missing permissions - that will be seen in the error message. Define Granular Permissions - Business Central | Microsoft Learn
