Management Reporter Log File is HUGE

Hello,

My log file for management reporter database is 43 GB.  Is there any way to shrink tihs?  I have no idea why this would be so big.  It didn't come to our attention until our systems analyst went to try and replicate it to our DR site and realized how massive it is.  Any suggestions are apprciated.

    Hello MByrne,

    Have you gone into the Report Library and removed any previous versions of reports? Each time a report is generated it is maintained in the database, so removing older versions should help. Please let me know.

    Check your recovery method on the ManagementReporter database on your SQL Server (Under the Options Tab of the Database properties Window in SQL Server Management Studio).

    If it is not set to "Simple" (i.e. it is set to Full or Bulk Logged), you should consider changing it to "Simple" or make sure you backup the Log file.

    Most probably the recovery method of the Database is set to full or your database was never backed up, follow steps below to shrink:
