hi All,
I would like to understand the sequence of how the lcs updates are applied to a cloud hosted VM in D365 FO.
Is it that the updates are first released for dev environment and then later on scheduled to apply in UAT and Prod envt ?
I know that for UAT and PRod we get the below info however I am not sure what is the sequence in which the updates are applied as I see that in different projects the Application release and platform release are different in diff envts.
I assume that first the updates are released for dev environment and later scheduled for UAT and Prod ?
Thanks,
VK
Hello Vicky1234,
For a D365FO project, you have 2 defaults environment(UAT and PROD) which all should be on the same version at every point in Time based on the ONE VERSION approach by Microsoft.
Here is from Microsoft
"Users must opt in to new features and turn them on. All updates are applied first to the user acceptance testing (UAT) environment and then to the production environment. Therefore, customers have time to do any validation that is required. Customers can select the environment that is updated. They can also pause an update for up to three months."
A Development environment comes if there will be need for a customization. Having said that, you would of course need to make sure your DEV is on same version as the UAT.
Microsoft is in charge of applying update on UAT and PROD. You are responsible of updating the DEV.
In summary, Update your DEV(if exists), UAT, then PROD.
