Block duplicates from registering to an event

Hello,

We would like to know if it is possible to prevent duplicate registrations for events. For example, if someone attempts to register for the same event more than once using the same email address or phone number, is there a way to automatically block or prevent the second registration from being submitted?

At the moment, we are experiencing cases where participants register multiple times, which requires us to manually review and remove duplicates before each event.
We are currently using Customer Insights – Journeys together with the event forms.

If this functionality is available, could you please let us know whether there is an out-of-the-box solution for this, or if it would require custom development?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

    Hello,

There is currently no out‑of‑the‑box (OOB) setting in Customer Insights – Journeys that automatically blocks a person from registering multiple times for the same event based on email or phone number.

Preventing duplicate event registrations requires custom logic:

I believe the simplest way is to create a key for the Event Registration table using the Contact and Event columns.
To do this, open the table at make.powerapps.com, search for Keys, and create one using the columns mentioned.

Another option would be to create a plugin to prevent duplicate registrations.

    Hello dear,

We have retention policy that you can use by adding some specific rules that matches blocking duplicate records, you can also use power automate for deleting duplicate records based on specific filitering you can save a lot of time.
or you can use an Azure function to check if there is a record in current table if there is the process should be terminated you can add a script to call the function onSave.

    Regards,
