Hello Peter,
The standard commission functionality in Business Central is quite limited. Out of the box, you can assign a Commission % on the Salesperson/Purchaser card, and the commission amount can be calculated on sales transactions. However, Business Central does not provide a complete commission management process.
The link below provides an introduction on how to handle this requirement using Acumens Flexible Commissions R1 for Business Central.
The app provides an advanced commission management functionality to overcome standard BC limitations and automate payout process. It provides a complete commission solution by extending Business Central with features such as:
-Multiple commission programs and configurable commission rates.
-Commission calculation based on Sales, Gross Profit, or Per Quantity.
-Commission calculation methods. This provides four distinct calculation engines to support diverse sales incentive strategies.
-Commission rules by salesperson, location, state, item/resource/G/L account, and more.
-Support for W2 employees, 1099 vendors, referral partners, and sales managers.
-Commission splitting across multiple recipients.
-Commission ledger entries for tracking and auditability.
-Integration with General Ledger and Accounts Payable, enabling a complete commission lifecycle from calculation through settlement.
